Mirtha Dermisache passed away in January 2012. By will, she had named heirs and appointed a testamentary executor. Leonor Cantarelli, friend and former student, as executor; Alejandro Larumbe, nephew and heir, as representative of his brothers Gabriel, Pablo and Facundo Larumbe; and the artist′s godson, Félix Matarazzo, created the AMD Mirtha Dermisache Archive, to continue the diffusion of her artwork and keep her legacy alive. From that moment on, a professional team led by Cintia Mezza, together with Cecilia Iida and Ana Raviña, worked on cataloguing Dermisache′s oeuvre and organizing her Archive, respecting the original order and principle of provenance.
In 2018, after an intense task, and the realization of the exhibition and catalog "Porque yo escribo!" (2017) at MALBA, Buenos Aires, the Archive and Library of the artist have been donated to the Centro de Estudios Espigas-Tarea, Universidad de San Martín, Buenos Aires, where they are available for consultation and research: http://catalogo.espigas.org.ar/
With that mission accomplished, the LMD Legado de Mirtha Dermisache was established since then with the purpose of protecting the memory and production of the artist, in the continuity of the diffusion of her life achievements and extensive work. The task of activating her works and editions, together with loans to institutions and collaboration with curators, researchers and students, is promoted by the heirs of the artist represented by Juan Alejandro Larumbe, her chosen administrator Leonor Cantarelli and the general management of Cintia Mezza, in a teamwork with the Herlitzka + Faria Gallery, Buenos Aires - New York.
